Q. Why did you decide to make a beat tape with all Millie Jackson samples?

A. In celebration of the great soul singer turning 72. I thought i would honor her work by releasing an all Millie Jackson beat tape. I've always been a big fan of her music growing up even though my mom warned me to stop listening to artist such as Millie and Blowfly because of their adult content. Going thru my catalog of beats, I noticed I was using samples from Millie Jackson. I didn't realize how many tracks I made from her songs. I would say at least 15 to 20 contains samples from her great body of work.

Q. What does her music mean to you?

A. Her catalog shows strength as an artist and as a black woman in a male dominated world. She excelled in a music industry that would eat you alive. Millie persevered and played by her own rules and was not afraid to celebrate her sexuality. HAPPY SOLAR ROTATION MILLIE JACKSON!!!!
